Job Description

We are currently recruiting for a Marketing and Sales Assistant (UK) into a recently established UK subsidiary office located in York City.

Reporting to the Commercial Director UK, the MSA role will be largely involved in supporting the UK Commercial Unit on marketing and sales matters and the in-field nationwide sales team. MSA will be responsible for specific marketing and sales elements related to a speciality pharmaceutical portfolio established in the UK but will also work closely with a similar position located at an overseas parent company office.

The role is also responsible for actively developing, executive and monitoring a bespoke marketing and sales system for the UK will collaborate closely with departments across the business including; marketing and sales, supply chain and logistics, regulatory affairs, quality and finance.

Key Duties and Responsibilities across 6 key areas:

  5. Support for Field Sales Team & Marketing & Sales Conference/Event Support (UK)
  6. Business Unit Planning and Scheduling

1. Business Analytics

  • Receive and collated all available data sets from In Market Sales and Wholesale Sales
  • Analyse, report and disseminate bespoke business analytics to Senior Management and the in-field sales team
  • Development of new marketing metrics, carrying out marketing cost-benefit-analysis implement reporting on same
  • Collating and reporting on competitor intelligence and monitoring such
  • Engagement with new marketing service providers
  • Report and Liaise with In-Field Sales on marketing iniatives

2. CRM System Management

  • Administration of established CRM system and ensuring that the system consists of clean data
  • Improvement of the functionality of the existing CRM system
  • Design of marketing campaign for roll-out via the CRM system
  • Responsible for select areas of data management and ensuring that GDPR guidelines are adhered to

3. Marketing Campaigns

  • Development of marketing campaigns via email, post for range of pharmaceutical products through established procedures
  • Implementation of marketing campaigns as part of a quarterly cycle plan
  • Confirmation and follow-up on dispatch of product samples
  • Implementation of budgeted advertisement and promotional initiatives
  • Monitor and support the development of marketing material under-development with parent company office

4. Market Research

  • Carry-out primary or secondary market research in a desk-based environment
  • Carry-out market research through engaging with medical experts in specialist areas
  • Working closely with Scientific and Medical Affairs Manager to ensure that relevant/up-to-date information is available to in-field sales team

5. Support for Field Sales Team & Marketing & Sales Conference/Event Support (UK)

  • Coordinate Field Sales Team Conferences/Event activities as part of a UK Marketing Schedule
  • Ad-hoc attendance at large national conferences in supporting function

6. Business Unit Planning and Scheduling

  • Taking direction from Head Office and Commercial Director UK assist with budget planning and marketing and sales scheduling
  • Reviewing business unit metrics to mitigate wastage and ensure maximum return on investment

Essential Skills and Competencies

  • Fluent English speaker. Additional languages would be an advantage
  • Degree in Marketing Discipline
  • Previous experience in a marketing role (pharmaceutical, medical devices or food industry) would be an advantage.
  • Marketing Centric attitude
  • High self-motivated, self-driven and “can-do-attitude”
  • Superb organisational skills, ability to prioritise work and systemic approach to tasks
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Good team player whilst being able to work independently
  • Good numeric ability / strong business acumen
  • Excellent computer skills incl MS office a prerequisite
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills – both verbal and written

Highly Desirable:

  • Previous Marketing/Brand Development Experience
  • Previous experience in pharma, sales or marketing
  • Knowledge and awareness of UK Healthcare System
  • IT literate exposure to photoshop, illustrator or word press
